  1. so that was the car that scared everyone away...

    r1

i was surprised being able to stay close to sylwester, that made it possible for chris to open up the gap more and more every lap. by the time sylwester got up to speed the top3 were pretty much set in stone already..still, quite an enjoyable race tbh.

    r2

as usual, more action in r2. pretty much right after the start, sylwester decided i was in his way, conveniently pushing me into gelunino and not caring at all..lol. since "i" pushed gelunino off the track i waited for him of course.

sylwester, while i appreciate your apology after the race, i think it speaks volumes that you had to ask if you even hit me. did you really not notice? lol... a little more patience in the starting laps of r2 really wouldnt hurt and probably won't change a lot regarding end results. please consider it for future races. thanks.

as the race went on, everything went pretty much as expected.

with little more over a lap to go, sadly, i couldnt capitalize on chris' mistake (not enough fuel) because i made a huge mistake myself right before chris went to the pits the 2nd time. all in all, it wasnt my best race, but also far from my worst, so its alright i guess.

i was actually really lookin forward to the highspeed left front tyre killer willow springs, but if i understand it correctly, this all won't be happening anymore.

now we switch to cars that everyone's racing all the time, on tracks that everyone's racing all the time...i dont know...

    ...very disappointing.

have you considered moving the wec thing from friday to sunday? much more enjoyable..you can have a permanent gt3 league on fridays, every 2 or 3 weeks or whatever.

wasnt one of the arguments against the atom that there was no voting for deciding the car? ..did i miss a voting for the gt3s? ^^

    oh well.

  2. i noticed its actually the same as it was for the DTM, so i dont need a translation anymore..

overcast and cloudy is not rain, yup, but i wasnt sure if it actually was overcast and cloudy,  ;)

"Lekkie zachmurzenie" gets translated to "light rain" which, apparently, is not correct..stupid google :1_grinning:

    now bring it on

  3. easy guys..while there's a lot of rules (at least when it comes to amount of words), error knows where i'm comin from regarding racecraft and all that (been racin together in another community), so there really wasn't much he had to tell me. it really was just about the cut track penalties..i know it now, and since it was the last race of the championship the punishment is not as severe as it would be otherwise.

    all good :)

oh and, sylwester, congratulations on winning the championship btw, well deserved! :)

  4. just to give you a little insight of how reliable Google translates stuff:

"Słońce, Lekkie zachmurzenie, Pochmurno, Losowo"  =  Sun, Overcast, Cloudy, Light

"Słońce, Lekkie zachmurzenie, Pochmurno" = Sun, Overcast, Overcast

    "Pogoda w R2 - (4sloty)  - Słońce, Lekkie zachmurzenie, Pochmurno, Losowo" = Weather in R2 - (4slot) - Sun, Light rain, Precipitation, Snowfall

"Lekkie zachmurzenie Lekkie zachmurzenie" = Light rain Overcast

it can really be hard not to be irritated by that ^^

so whats it gonna be? sun, light rain, medium cloud, random?

guaranteed rain in every single long race? i'd prefer another random slot tbh (assuming the last slot is neither "light" nor "snowfall", but "random" ^^) but dont worry, i'm mainly interested in knowing what the actual plan is. thanks!

  6. error pls man, i only asked twice, once via psn and once here, thinking i might get an answer from someone else who's in the know..as i've edited in my previous  message, i havent read your answer on psn before i posted here, so pls relax :)

    anyway..

i apologize for my excessive "corner cutting" in the zolder races!

to me, the curbs are part of the track, there's ingame penalties for doing too much, i didnt know there were stricter rules in place, nobody told me and despite some of you probably thinking that this is clear, let me assure you, it is not. i remember there being a special warning before the silverstone race, so why not do the same for zolder? ;) i haven't read the rules for the championships as error made me understand that he told me everything i needed to know and i wouldnt even have to signup here (i dont really understand a lot anyway). i've only found out today about all this..stupidly enough i post the evidence myself and make it easy to get prosecuted, lol, maybe not the best strategy.. i wonder if i was "randomly" selected because of that.

please take away my points for both races and the TT as i've obviously only achieved that due to not staying on track ^^

again, sorry, i meant no harm!

even more interested now in how sylwester was so much faster in the TT...

congrats marcin on the win! ;)

  7. zolder..best driven in sunset, but this was also nice :1_grinning: double victory, never expected that after being a second behind sylwester in the TT.

    r1

an ok start, overly cautious turn 1, luckily kept p2..after 1 or 2 laps i was surprised to be able to stay close to sylwester, tried to put him under pressure. eventually he made a mistake in the 1st chicane, think it was lap 4, put me in a 4 or 5 second lead. he then got closer and closer again over the next 5 laps, shaping up for a nice finish, but apparently he's made another mistake and then secured p2. enjoyable race for me :)

    r2

first few laps, as usual, pretty exciting..plowing through the field is always nice, especially when you're in a group :)

too bad sylwester lost his tail a bit and collected marcin in the final turn of lap 9 (around the 10 minute mark in the video). i then had to chase down ralfinio, took a few laps. a tiny mistake on his part in the first chicane made it easy for me..p1 in lap12 (~12:40). as usual i was thinking about doing a long run to wait for the weather, but when i saw both p2 and p3 pit in lap 13 i didnt want to risk losing too much time on worn tyres only to have the weather stay dry. so i pitted right after that in lap 14 (~14:00). came out behind topru, quite a bit, so back to chasing. got close in lap19 (~17:00), but not until it started raining. coming out of the hairpin before the pits side by side made it interesting..lucky for me, i was on the right side, so i didnt have to back off.

when i got out of the pits (~18:30) i thought i was lucky to come out a bit ahead of a backmarker. turned out it was p16, nothing to worry about, right? lol..well, as it wasn't really wet yet, my tyres weren't all that good, and kupczyk decided to annoy me a bit and fight "for position" or i dont know what ^^

that (and the fact he stayed out 1 lap longer) allowed marcing to get out of the pits ahead of me..so close!! :1_grinning:

behing so close behind someone in the rain is always a challenge..that was fun! finally got him in lap 25 (~14:10)..that first chicane is always good for a mistake ;) i thought that was it, and well, it pretty much was, but a few tiny mistakes on my part made it really interesting in the end, only finishing ahead of marcing less than 0,5 seconds..what a thrill :1_grinning:

    very enjoyable, once again!

when do we know whether or not we'll be doing donington, is that decided yet?

edit: sry error, havent read your ps messages before i typed here ;) but theres always the chance i'm missing something, as i'm not always translating everything (because neither is google ^^), thats why i'm asking every once in a while ;)

  8. nürburgring...well that was something :1_grinning:

    r1

lost positions at the start, one of the fast ones was a jumpstart again (tomaszan i think), took a sharp first turn to avoid people on the outside, blocking kupczyk a bit on the inside - sorry for that! there was some very adventurous lag from tomaszan (around the 1min mark), distracting me a little bit. but despite all that, i had marcin behind me aaaaall the time, he was within a second of me for almost the whole race. i was constantly defending, had to close inside gaps, was trying to not give him any chance to pass. so far so good...it wasnt until the last lap that i made a mistake and made it possible for him to get to p2 (around 19min). grrrr :1_grinning: awesome race, nonstop pressure..liked it a lot!

    r2

once again, race control wasnt happy with our first formation lap, so we started in lap 2. sylwester sneaked his way through in turn 1 already, i tried to get a position back (around 1min) but couldnt make the maneuvre stick..or, in other words, there just wasnt enough room :1_grinning: luckily we could avoid the worst. i went on to follow sylwester as good as i could, worked for a few laps. hairy moment at 5:50, when marcin wanted to overtake in the fast slight righthander, i still had my drs open, lost traction a little bit. didnt touch anyone in my view but marcin and martusia both got off track there..i guess it was due to open drs and too much direction change on their part. but marcin and i would meet again eventually :)

after 3 weeks of not raining, i was betting on rain this time, my plan was to stay out on mediums until the rain starts...but that didnt work out. didnt rain again :38_worried: (at least not in the actual race, the replay had rain/thunderstorm). due to me staying out on mediums for so long, my laptimes weren't that good at the end of my first stint, lost a bit of time, that made it possible for marcin to catch up again. i got in in lap21 after checking the weather in the pause menu (~17:15) and when i got out i was close behind marcin. at that point i was actually lucky to get out ahead of gabrielos and kupczyk. tbh i expected to have marcin in the bag in no time, but he didnt make it easy for me. finally got him in lap25 (~22:30) but despite me being on soft tyres, i couldnt get away from him. so he fought back..big mistake from me in the "sprint corner" (~26:00) which gave him an opportunity. of course he tried, but we made contact in next corner, i got a slow down penalty, marcin waited for me..but then kupczyk came flying in, caused a slowdown for marcin and well, that was it for me, 2nd place secured. very sorry for marcin to have lost a podium spot the way he did, but who knows, there might be a chance to get that back on the green table..? ;)

anyway, awesome racing once again, thx everyone! now bring on zolder! :1_grinning: ..or actually nordschleife ^^

what areo front and back on NURB?

i'm not sure yet..did a few laps today and i think i ended up on 3-13 for now, 1:23.5 was my fastest lap. aiming for 1:22 tho, there has to be a way ^^ (AI was driving 1:22.2)

1-7 didnt feel too good tbh, only tested that setup for a few laps before i got annoyed by it :1_grinning: i'm gonna have to test low downforce again but i think higher downforce is the way to go here.

gonna be an interesting race..lots and lots of possibilities to screw up easily and lose loads of time ^^

about holding the line while side by side..not always easy, just try to anticipate whats going on. when i see someone close behind me and i miss the apex a little bit or make a bit of a mistake, i expect that someone to go for it. so as long as i dont see the car in the rear mirror again, i assume its next to me, so i leave room..not too much, i'm not here to make it easy for you, but enough room to keep it going. on the other side, if i go for it, i always try to be sure i can stay on my line. it only really gets difficult when its 3 wide (or even more..). when you're in the middle you can only keep a steady pace, hold the line, and hope that the other 2 do the same ;)

i have look left and right also on L2/R2, but i barely ever use it, usually only on straights if someone's next to me. as soon as i'm in the corner its back to holding the line and hoping for the best. usually works but of course depends on how consistent/controlled both drivers are. usually my tactic is to stay in the mirror of the car in front of me and make the driver nervous, maybe pretend a dive on the inside but back off again, wait for the mistake. problem is..doesnt always work with a room full of good drivers. thinking of hockenheim and diego here... i was faster but simply couldnt get past him due to him not makin any real mistakes. its so annoying :1_grinning: but thats racing :)

  10. i always thought the refuel rule was a bit strange. i only ever use one click which refuels 1-2L due to the fact that you dont lose as much time with more weight compared to the time you lose when you refuel. sadly the game doesnt give the option to have higher fuel consumption, only slower.

anyway..this was brno. i'm happy btw that my setup seemed to have helped a few of you, you're welcome :)

    R1

my first win due to sylwester gettin a drive-through penalty for jumping the start. had me confused a bit when he went to the pits but then i remembered that his start indeed seemed very fast, obviously a bit too fast. solid race, there was a little pressure from error behind me, but nothing i couldnt handle..lol. probably a bit boring to watch, but here's race1 (cut)

    R2

as usual, a lot more going on due to reverse grid..race control apparently wasnt happy with our first formation lap so we did another one. can i just say....i'd really appreciate if "race control" was talkin in english. i can anticipate most things but it would be nice to get some actual info. some open mics during the race, lots of gear shifting..interesting ^^ got through the field surprisingly well when in lap11 i thought i saw the leader in the pits so i got in as well. was kinda confused when the white dot didnt turn red after sylwester passed the pitlane, made me crash a bit in the pitlane entry..then realized it was ralfiniu who apparently had lost a wheel and retired. anyway, the early pitstop gave me a bit of an undercut on sylwester, gained about 3 seconds on him, but lost about the same amount during overtaking in the laps after the stop. in the end i could close the gap a tiny little bit but with sylwester not doing any real mistakes i actually had no chance. good race once again! here's race2 (cut short after pitstop)

next week nürburgring..why dont we drive nordschleife? :24_stuck_out_tongue::1_grinning: assuming the race pace will be sth around 1:25, it will be 15 and 32 laps.

oh and about the next event..just let it be something without DRS or KERS please, its gettin annoying ^^

    R1

good start for me, i knew it was probably my only chance to gain a spot..glad i could make it! being on the inside definitely helped. from then on there was constant pressure from marcin for pretty much the whole race. i knew he had better pace so i wasnt allowed to make any major mistakes..so that's what i did :1_grinning: hehe, lucky me. sylwester 1st from start to finish, he gave me zero chance, congrats!

    R2

interesting race, started on softs, planned to come in in lap9 or 10, but after a few laps i knew i had to get in sooner but couldnt go too soon in order to stay on softs the whole race. decided to pit in lap 8, the undercut definitely helped. 2nd pitstop in lap19, maybe a bit too late but i wanted to have some grip left in the tyres for the last laps. thats about when it started raining in the replay, would have probably helped me win the race if it did rain in the actual race as well (assuming i could've handled the wet, hehe). i saw gelunino pit in lap16, good timing, that got him the win (+ a more or less consistent drive i assume ;) ), congrats on that!

all in all i'm very happy with my results, the races went a lot better than expected, however, i'm glad we have that behind us now :)

very much lookin forward to brno next week! ..its gonna be 11 and 23 laps btw (laptimes around 1:55)
